Despite a good performance, Club Brugge could not win its opening match against KV Mechelen. That caused mixed feelings for Antonio Nusa, who was very industrious as a left winger.
“I think we deserved more than one point today", started the youngster immediately. "I thought we played quite nicely at times, only we failed to convert that superiority into goals. If we would have scored first, the match would have been totally different. Now it was even tough for us to keep one point home after the red card."
Nusa, who was allowed to start for the second time in a row, continued: "Immediately after the final whistle, a feeling of disappointment prevails because at the end of the day you always want to win. On the other hand, we have to put this behind us now and have to focus on our next matches, starting with next Thursday's European return match in Denmark."
When being asked whether Nusa can now quietly claim a place in the starting eleven, the Norwegian youth international replied rather neutrally. "It's nice to be allowed to start but the most important thing remains to keep on working hard and to make the necessary steps. After all, places at Club are expensive. But I get the necessary confidence from the coach, so it's up to me not to betray that confidence."(MV)
