Three days after the match in Florence, we head to the Bosuil tomorrow for a Champions' Play-Offs duel against Antwerp. With also the Union-Anderlecht duel later in the evening, Club can make a good case in the standings. Find out all about the topper with the Club Facts!

The game

The game against Antwerp is the last of three consecutive away games. Against Antwerp, Club tries to continue its good run in the Champions' Play-Offs. After a draw on matchday 1 against Cercle, they won the next five matches.

Our balance on the Bosuil is in balance. Of the previous 86 previous relocations, we were able to win 28 times, played a draw 25 times and lost 33 times. Blauw-Zwart has been unable to win three games in Antwerp. The last win dates from May 2022, when we played champion on the field of The Great Old. Earlier this Play-Offs we did win at home from Antwerp 3-0. Onyedika, Skóraś and Zinckernagel provided the goals. In the away game against R. Antwerp FC in the regular competition, Blauw-Zwart lost 2-1 in the absolute final.

Nicky Hayen will coach his tenth game for Club tomorrow. Under his guidance, we won 7 times, drew twice and lost once (Thursday in and against Fiorentina). The last 6 games we managed to score at least 2 goals each time, so we are already at 132 goals this season. The record from 2014/15 stands at 136 goals. We also already hit 19 league matches in a row.

The top shooter is still Igor Thiago with 18 league goals. Across all competitions, the Brazilian sharpshooter has already scored 29 times. Only five players in club history scored more often than Thiago in a single season.

Maxim De Cuyper leads the club standings in terms of assists with 8 decisive passes. Nordin Jackers and Brandon Mechele are the only two Bridge players who have not missed a single minute in these Play-Offs.


The opponent

Antwerp already experienced difficult Play-Offs this season and after the two-match series against Union, it remains 3/18 and thus eliminated from the title. This is in contrast to last season, when it crowned itself national champion on the last matchday.

The previous two home games this Play-Offs were lost. Against both Genk (0-1) and Union (0-3) Antwerp did not score either. Janssen and Ejuke are the only goalscorers to have scored once each. Club already counts 11 goal scorers this edition of the Play-Offs.

In the nacompetition, Antwerp could only win once of its last nine games against Club, last year it was 3-2 for the redshirts. A defeat against Blauw-Zwart means that The Great Old will lose 3 home games in a row for the first time since 2003/2004. In turn, a win will ensure Antwerp's first consecutive three wins over Club at home in more than 40 years.

Top shooter is Dutchman Vincent Janssen, he has already scored 11 times in the JPL. Michel-Ange Balikwisha is the best declarer (6 assists).

As for Club, Antwerp also has an important midweek match on the schedule next week. On Thursday it plays the final of the Belgian Cup against Union SG.

The referee

The match management is in the hands of Mr. Jasper Vergoote. Line judges are Michael Geerolf and Martijn Tiesters. The fourth official is Michiel Allaerts. The VAR is Lawrence Visser, assisted by Rien Vanyzere and Mario Vanlommel.

For the 13th time, the 32-year-old ref will lead an official Club match. Club's 9 previous away matches under his direction ended in 5 wins and 4 defeats. Earlier this season he also whistled the game between Antwerp and Club at the Bosuil (2-1) in the regular competition. He also conducted the home game against Union (1-1) and the away games against KAA Gent (2-1), Union (2-1) and KRC Genk (0-3). In the Champions' Playoffs, he was ref at the match at Union (1-2).
