No goals in Atalanta-Cagliari

UEFA Champions League

Just like Club on Saturday, Atalanta got stuck at a draw over the weekend, with the game against middle-of-the-table Cagliari a stailmate.

With seven new names on the ptich, Atalanta shuffled its team that had suffered defeat at Club on Wednesday. Starting from the bench were a.o. De Ketelaere, Éderson and De Roon, with De Ketelaere coming on at half time but unable to make a mark.

In an uneventful game, Atalanta had two attempts between the posts, unretaliated by Cagliari. Brescianini finally seemed to make it happen for Atalanta in the second half, but his goal was canceled out due to a foul by Posch just before the goal. The game ending as it started was just a logical result in the end.

In the table, leaders Napoli are five points clear of Atalanta, still in third place.

On Tuesday at 21h, Club will be disputing the second leg of the Knock-Out Play-Offs at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia, defending a 2-1 first leg bonus.
