Club Brugge starts proceedings against 24 'supporters'

Several photos of 'supporters' in the away box making racist salutes appeared on social media last night. Club Brugge took action today, already identifying 24 supporters and launching stadium ban proceedings.

Both Club Brugge and its supporters were shocked by the racist greeting seen in the Standard away box yesterday. The entire Club Brugge family immediately condemned this action. Today Club took further steps and already identified 24 supporters. A file has been drawn up against these supporters at the Civil Exclusion Chamber of the KBVB, which should lead to a stadium ban. In addition, Club is working closely with the police in their possible further steps.

Last week, a similar greeting was seen at the Jan Breydel Stadium during the Super Cup. This 'supporter' was identified shortly afterwards and a stadium ban procedure was initiated here as well. Last season Club already opened 26 such files on its own initiative regarding misbehavior in the stadium (Pyro, cup throwing, violence,...).

Club emphasizes that there is no place for misbehavior within the Blue-Black family and that it will continue to take proactive action against people who are not worthy of wearing our Club colors.
