Comments after Dender-Club

Jupiler Pro League

Interview

After the 1-2 win against Dender, we gathered reactions from Christos Tzolis & coach Nicky Hayen.

Tzolis: "Six out of six, great"

Christos Tzolis scored Club's second with a fabulous curl in the far corner. "I am very happy with my goal: my first in the league. I want to thank my teammates. They have been helping me since the beginning I have been here. I hope to score many more goals and give assists so we can keep winning."

"Our first 40 minutes were good. We were dominant and played strong with and without the ball. Afterwards we kept control. We got the counter goal just before halftime. Dender stepped up the pressure and had renewed courage in the second half. Dender has had a good start to the season, so it's nice that we can win here and get six out of six."

Nicky Hayen: "Hopefully the start of a nice run"

The Brugge coach was relieved with the second victory in a row. Especially in the first 35 minutes, he saw a strong Club Brugge. "We were dominant, looked for the right solutions and made the right decisions. We therefore scored two goals very quickly."

After that reassuring lead, Dender scored just before halftime. According to the coach, that was unnecessary. "We gave the opponent oxygen at that point. You see that in the second half they also play with a lot more belief. We have to work on this and get smarter about it."

About the second half, Hayen also came up with a clear analysis. "We make it difficult for ourselves as long as we don't score that third goal. There was too little depth and goal danger. In the end we then have to hold on to the 1-2 lead and we manage to do that. So I'm happy that we pulled out a win over the line."

"Six out of six, hopefully that's the start of a nice series. I see progression week by week. Today we win a game we might have lost in the past. Next week we have the Bruges derby on the schedule. There we will go full for the three points again."
