German Inka Grings new coach Club YLA

Transfer & contract nieuws - Club YLA

Club YLA proudly introduces its new head coach. German ex-international Inka Grings will set the lines in the Club Brugge ladies' locker room starting next season. She signs a contract of indefinite duration.

Inka Grings is a former German international and top markswoman of the Frauen-Bundesliga. She played most of her career with FCR 2001 Duisburg, where she waved goodbye in 2014 as the top scorer of all time with 353 goals. Thanks to her torinstinct, she is also second in the Frauen-Bundesliga's all-time top shooter standings and third with the German national team.

After periods at FC Zurich, Chicago Red Stars and FC Cologne, she began her coaching career at old love Duisburg in 2014. Her greatest successes came at FC Zurich, where she secured the double in the 2021 - 2022 season.

This achievement earned her the position of national coach of the Swiss national team. After a successful qualifying campaign, including a record 15 - 0 win against Moldova, Grings' team was allowed to participate in the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. Switzerland survived the group stage, but in the 1/8th final, future champion Spain was too strong.

Now Inka Grings gets the chance to turn Club YLA to her will with her attacking and winning mentality. With a contract for an indefinite period of time, the board already has full confidence in her. She will also be responsible for the further development of Club YLA's successful youth team and its integration into the A-team. Furthermore, the full sports staff will be maintained with the addition of a (half-time) video analyst.

On Monday, July 15, Inka will conduct her first field practice. Her first match will be the practice match against KSV Bredene on Friday, July 26. The first league match will follow a month later, when Club YLA will take on OH Leuven Women at home.
