Bjorn Meijer was visibly upset after the match, despite having provided two assists.

“We started really, really well. We were brilliant in the first twenty minutes, but then we were becoming too lethargic."
After a good start, the level of play and tempo dropped dramatically. "We were already making it difficult on ourselves in the first half. Once we got out of the dressing room, we wanted to lift our playing level again, but then we concede two goals which should never have happened. This really is disappointing."
"I thought we were ready to start the second half sharp like the first. Our intentions were right, but it just didn't click on the pitch," Meijer looks back on the draw.
Club looked it had the game in the bag. "When it's just 0-2, you are never certain. Certainly not in an away game. You can think that when you're 5-0 up, but not now. They scored quickly into the second half, so you need to stay sharp."
Just before Beerschot pulled one back, the left full-back had a massive chance to make it three, but he mistimed his effort and didn't make contact with the ball. "I will be thinking about that a lot in the coming days. I really should have buried that ball, it's still a mistery to me."
