Maxim De Cuyper: "This was a well-deserved victory for us."

"This was a well-deserved victory for us today. We created a number of good chances and didn't give away too much. It's unfortunate that the goal just before half-time was disallowed, otherwise we could have had a more comfortable lead earlier in the game. We had to stay focussed after the break and kept pushing for more goals."

Christos Tzolis: "Would liked to have scored more"

"This has been an excellent start of the Play-Offs with a solid game from the entire team. I'm happy with my performance and goal, eventhough I was a little bit disappointed when I was subbed off. I would have like to stay on and perhaps score another goal. On the other hand, a bit more rest before our next game is also a good thing. Now we can relax for just a moment and tomorrow we start again to prepare for the next match."

Nicky Hayen: “Support from the fans incited our players.”

"This was a very convincing performance from our part, especially in the first half. Every aspect of football was present. We were very dominant and created many chances. The only small point of criticism might be that we should have scored more. In the second half, we gave away a bit more space, but without allowing Anderlecht any real clear-cut chances. That 2-0 goal came at the right moment. But of course, you have to stay focused even after that. Even at 2-0, if they pull one back, the game is back on. But we stayed compact and showed that we were determined to go for a third goal."

After the 1-0, it remained exciting for a while, but Romeo Vermant’s 2-0 proved to be the knockout blow for Anderlecht. "This shows how important substitutes can be. Last year, our depth was our strength, and we want to keep everyone involved this season as well. Everyone has already played their part, and that will continue. A special thanks also goes to our fans. Their support really puts pressure on the opponent and incited our players."

Ardon Jashari: “We absolutely wanted to win this first game.”

"I have a very good feeling about this 2-0 victory. This was the way we wanted to start the Play-Offs. To control a home game against our rival Anderlecht like this was our hope, and if it works out like that, it's even better, of course. I wouldn't say we reached our Champions League level, but if we can play like this in every upcoming match, I think we'll finish high up."

"Honestly, I don't want to focus on what Anderlecht managed to do against us, because we only need to look at ourselves and see what we can still improve in the upcoming games. We should have scored at least twice before half-time, as there was a lot of movement in our play, both with and without the ball. I think we immediately showed that we were ready for this game because we absolutely wanted that first victory. Now, it's up to us to try to maintain our focus and only think about our next task. Next weekend, we travel to Antwerp, and a new challenge awaits us there."

Brandon Mechele: “Expected a totally different opponent today.”

"Personally, I thought that we would face a very motivated opponent team after their recent change of the coaching staff. But nothing was further from the truth. From the very start, we were on top of our game and never gave Anderlecht the chance to get into the match. We were really aggressive from the beginning, which meant they had nothing to say in the first half. Yes, I expected a very different Anderlecht."

"We tried to play vertically with a lot of movement between the lines. Some matches that works better than others, but today we connected quite smoothly, and that certainly helps to pin the opponent back and be dangerous. We also created a lot of chances, so it's no surprise that we were able to score twice."

"This 2-0 victory was a collective one, I think, something we need to try to replicate over the next nine games. If we can keep playing like this, I believe we have some great results ahead of us."
