Tonight 700 Club Business Members gathered at the BMCC for Club's fourth edition of the Charity Night, powered by Allianz. During this night we collected the record sum of 455.280 euro. This year the Club Brugge Foundation stood in the spotlight, following "Kom Op Tegen Kanker" (a socially committed organization that operates on several fronts int he fight against cancer), Special Olympics Belgium and Make-A-Wish-Belgium. Club Brugge Foundation is committed to social projects in the areas of sports, inclusion, health and education, among others.
The Charity Night kicked off after a warm welcome by the host Sofie Lemaire and chairman Bart Verhaeghe. Daan, known for his songs like Victory and Exes, and drummer Michael Schack were present for the musical entertainment. A first team player, former player or one of the coaches accompagnied out guests at each table that was "sold" for the benefit of the Club Brugge Foundation.
During the night many unique items were auctioned by auctioneer Leo Van der Elst. A VIP trip for the Champions League fixture between Manchester City - Club Brugge went under the hammer for €20.500, while the bet on the Penalty Charity Cup raised 5.265 euros. The winner went home with a signed shirt of Ruud Vormer. The silent auction, with a number of players items, raised €11.924.
After having raised €155.885 in the previous year and the €300.00 of the last two editions, we have now a new record of €405.280, which was personally raised by our chairman to €455.280.
An amazing amount for the benefit of our Club Brugge Foundation, which strives to be a socially responsible football family.
Thanks to all our partners!
