AC Milan beats Udinese with the smallest of margins

Paulo Fonseca's side managed to keep the three points home after an intense 1-0 win against Udinese, despite being down to ten men for more than an hour. Thanks to this win the seven-time European champions are now two points behind league leaders Napoli.

The only goal of the match was scored early on by Samuel Chukwueze in the 13th minute. What looked like the start of a comfortable evening ultimately proved to be the decisive goal. Milan's evening became considerably tougher when Tijjani Reijnders was shown a straight red in the 29th minute after an unfortunate foul on Sandi Lovric, who was free in front of goal.

Despite all that the Rossoneri could have put the game to bed with 15 minutes on the clock but substitute Tammy Abraham missed on a rebound and also picked up an injury to his shoulder in the process.

Tension ran high when Udinese thought to equalise through Christian Kabasele in the fifth minute of injury time. The visitors were already celebrating, but their joy was abruptly interrupted when, after a lengthy VAR check, the goal was disallowed for narrowly offside by Jurgen Ekkelenkamp.
